The Original Fred Perry

The Original Fred Perry

Established in 1952 by a triple Wimbledon champion, eponymous label Fred Perry is an original British brand. The label takes its inspiration from the tennis courts, its ever-present signature logo polo shirt is still a classic in every collection we do, alongside staple T-shirts, plain and checked shirts, jumpers and jackets. Fred Perry’s iconic tipping can also be seen across its ranges.

The birthplace of Fred Perry is in Leicester, where factories UK Piqué and ESP are situated, both specialists in their manufacturing fields. This year sees Fred Perry begin their Made In England campaign which comprises of a collection of their most essential and distinctive designs, that are still made in these factories.

Fred Perry has also been included on the recent list of top British menswear brands which heightens it's importance in the style-stakes.

Fred Perry says, "With the knitting carried out at Leicester’s UK Pique factory, the pieces then go next door to garment makers ESP, where traditional British machinery combines with state-of-the-art cutting technology, to give each Fred Perry Shirt the streamlined silhouette that Fred was so proud of. With each polo knitted, dyed, cut, embroidered, and hand-finished in Leicester, with a dedicated Fred Perry employee overseeing the intricate process, making the Fred Perry Shirt is a real labour of love."

We are proud to stock this quaint essentially British brand, and although we don't currently have their Made In England collection stocked at Javelin, we have selected a range of iconic cuts and classic styles from their spring/summer collection that have just landed online..
