How to build a holiday wardrobe

Layers, versatility and fun.

These were three of the things Javelin friends and family told us, when we asked for top holiday dressing tips.

Maybe you’re taking an Easter break, but even if not, it’s the time of the year you might be thinking about summer plans. (And there are a few very welcome bank holiday weekends on the horizon!)

So why not explore the spring collections, rummage in your wardrobe for your old favourites, and plan some new looks that will see you all set for fun and relaxation, whether you’re home or away.

Layers

Essential when you want to be prepared for whatever the weather throws at you, and the best way we know to create different looks to take you from brunch to dinner.

Layer contrasting colours, or fabrics with different textures - both of which will add depth and interest to your outfit. And different weights of fabric work well. A silk shirt that peeps out from underneath a cosy knit is on trend and truly practical.

Matching an elegant dress with a cropped jumper keeps it casual, with trainers. Then add shoes and a bag for something more sophisticated.

Is it a shirt, is it a jacket? Either way, layer this with a tee or sweatshirt, or a silk blouse.

Versatility

Pick items that can take you anywhere and everywhere. With a single accessory change you have wardrobe staples that do it all, your way.

Soft, long length palazzo pants…we could wear these every single day: dress up for evening, stay lounge-y for day. Real showstoppers.
