The invitation has arrived, the date marked in the diary, the gift list scoured. Now the real fun can begin: what to wear?
A wedding, whether formal, informal, quirky, small or large, is still the best chance many of us get to push the boat out and really dress up (especially when our everyday wear is increasingly casual).
A flick through Instagram and wedding magazines reveals that there are now as many ways to get married as there are happy couples. It’s not unusual to see a bride in trainers, or even wellies, which means the clothing rule book for guests - if there ever was one - has certainly been torn up.
So, be sure to choose something special, even a bit unusual, and elevate your style beyond your ‘normal’ to make the most of the occasion!
Our top tips
- Follow the dress code, if there is one. But don’t be afraid to be individual and stand out (without upstaging the couple, of course)
- Be the best version of yourself: don’t try to wear something you think is ‘suitable’ if it’s just not you. There is nothing worse than being uncomfortable.
- Wear shoes you can dance in (or expect to kick them off!)
- Choose an outfit that will work well for the service, and still look great on the dance floor at midnight.
